Rooftop Solar Panels at Orangeville Fairgrounds

Solar Power Network is proposing to install rooftop solar panels on a couple of buildings owned by the Orangeville Agricultural Society at the Orangeville Fairgrounds and was seeking Council's support for the project. Council agreed that the installation of rooftop solar panels was in line with the Town's Solar Roofs, not Solar Farms statement. Council passed a resolution stating that the Town was in support of the project. Council’s resolution will give the Solar Power Network extra points toward the application through the Independent Electricity System Operators (IESO) process.

Movie Filming Permits

A resident on the 3rd Line EHS expressed concern regarding a company that was shooting a movie on the 3rd Line this week. Director of Public Works Michael Dunmore stated that several permits have been issued so far this year to film companies and that each comes with strict conditions. He stated that he would follow up with the film company to ensure that the terms of the permit are being followed.

The terms of filming permits include that intersections must remain unrestricted at all times, intermittent traffic stops cannot exceed 4 minutes and that long duration road closures are not allowed. Permits also stipulate that all disturbed areas must be returned to their original condition.
